To secure your board into the cupboard, use pocket holes. It has to fit tightly inside your cupboard. You can also get the hardware store to cut this down to size. The rip guide makes it SO easy to make long straight cuts. I cut it to size with my circular saw and kreg jig rip guide. I measured the piece of wood so it would fit snugly. You can skip this step if you’re installing the drawers to the cabinet frame. I used a piece of MDF as a second wall in my cupboard since I installed the slide out pantry. Create a support wall for the IKEA Drawers Instead I used the smaller drawers to optimize my useful space with the pantry pull out on the side. If I only wanted drawer boxes (no pantry), I could have used the larger length PAX drawers, but it would not have optimized the space as I would have had leftover that I would fill with spacers. One other advantage is that the KOMPLEMENT drawers are soft closing like the SEKTION drawers, but almost half the cost! Supercritical Antisolvent Nanoparticles Mathematical modeling Intensity of segregation CFD Hence, the model resulted in a versatile tool for selecting conditions that may promote a better control over the performance of the SAS process. This corroborates experimental observations from the literature, related to smaller diameters of particles under higher pressures. From analyses of the intensity of segregation, there is an enhancement of the mixture on the molecular scale when the system is operated at higher pressure. For the conditions analyzed, to account for the heat of mixture in the energy balance, subtle variations in the temperature fields were observed, with almost negligible pressure drop. This work presents a numerical study concerning the impact of operating temperature and pressure upon the physical properties and mixture dynamics within the SAS process, because in supercritical conditions the radius of the droplets formed exhibits great sensitivity to these variables. The knowledge of fluid dynamics behavior plays a key role in the search for such parameter combinations. However, a suitable combination of operating parameters is needed for each type of solute. The Supercritical Antisolvent (SAS) technique allows for the precipitation of drugs and biopolymers in nanometer size in a wide range of industrial applications, while guaranteeing the physical and chemical integrity of such materials. ![]() ![]() Rain showers finally returned to western Iowa along a weak cold front after sunset and continued into eastern Iowa after midnight on the 16th. IOWA MONTHLY WEATHER SUMMARY – NOVEMBER 2023 General Summary ![]() Ju-Jutsu was designed to fight for your life, in deathly combats, involving corporal contact but weapons, as well. An important piece of information about the Ju-Jutsu is that, like all martial arts, it was not created as a sport to be practiced for purposes different than war. No wonder why the style that was known as Ju-Jutsu (or Ju-Jitsu) is now called Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. Despite the divergences as to the origin, there is a consensus that it was in Japan, through the Samurai schools, that the techniques and blows were developed. Whether or not the fighting style surged first in Japan, it was there that this martial art really evolved from basic movements and projection to a philosophy involving takedowns and submissions. The third and least likely origin of Jiu-Jitsu is that this martial art originated in China, and then with time immigrants started teaching the martial art for the Japanese. ![]() In time, the monks would have moved to China and then Japan, expanding Buddhism and teaching Jiu-Jitsu as well. Another story about the origins of Jiu-Jitsu is that the fighting style originated in India, invented, practiced, and trained by Buddhist monks. As it is a fact that the techniques and submissions were developed and perfected in Japan, in the samurai schools, it is very likely that the first version of the martial art even appeared in Japan. This aspect of the history of the origin of the martial art is the most widespread and accepted by researchers in the history of Jiu-Jitsu. The most likely place for the “birth” of Jiu-Jitsu in Japan. The Birthplace of Ju-Jutsu: Japan, India or China? If it surged in Japan or came from a different country is a different story. Despite the divergences, one thing is for sure: the techniques, takedowns, and submissions were developed and perfected in Japan, in Samurai schools. However, there are at least three possible origins and theories supported by good evidence. BJJ: Three Possible Originsĭespite being super popular and proven as the most effective martial art on earth, it’s still hard to know exactly where Jiu-Jitsu (or Ju-Jutsu) surged in the Asian continent. The Japanese Jiu-Jitsu arrived in Brazil in 1914 and was adapted by the Gracie Family creating what we know now as the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The first registration of this martial art occurred in 1532 in Japan, called Ju-Jutsu. The origin of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu comes from the Asian continent. So what is the origin of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? Although there are disagreements about the origin, there is a consensus that this martial art emerged (like so many others) on the Asian continent. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is one of the most popular martial arts in the world, still, there are a lot of doubts about the origins of this fighting style. ![]() Sometimes they can change things forever. Hopefully, overall, your kids find these middle-grade books about bullying to be empowering. In some of these books, readers will get a peek into the mind of bullies and see how they are often propelled by their own insecurities. I like that in these stories, bullies do not triumph because the bullied party finally speaks up, shuts the bully up by winning them over or finds someone else who will speak up for them. For several of these books, bullying is the plot. In this list, you’ll find books in which bullying is a major subplot. I wish I had these books about bullying when I was between ages 8-12. Often, parents don’t know that their kids are getting bullied, and even when they do, they may be dismissive or their desire to help may seem to worsen things. It’s pretty easy for all kinds of kids to be bullied and it can make kids feel alone, small, and helpless. I was bullied in elementary school and in what Americans call middle school as well.
